Surface to Air
AIR TARGETS ONLY
In Traditional Chess the Queen moves in any direction and captures pieces by moving to and occupying the opponent’s square.
In Strattegee the Surface to Air Missile SAM moves the same but attacks pieces by firing Heat Seeking Missiles from its position into the opponent’s quadrant.

Moves Any Direction
→ Starting position is base [ SAM ] quadrant
→ Armed SAM moves [ 1 ] quadrant
→ Unarmed SAM moves [ 1–2 ] quadrants
→ Can move under aircraft in flight
→ Can move diagonally between occupied quadrant
→ Cannot move through quadrants occupied by Ground pieces
→ Cannot move directly through Landscape TREES
→ Can move diagonally between TREES
Fires Any Direction
→ Attacks by firing from its position into the target quadrant
→ Can fire any direction [ 1–5 ] quadrants
→ Can only hit Air targets
→ Missiles are Guided and can fly through any occupied quadrants
Suppressive Fire
→ SAM cannot provide Suppressive Fire protection
→ Unarmed SAM cannot be protected
→ Armed SAM can be protected, but a missile is damaged in Fire Fight
→ One round of ammunition [ damaged missile ] is removed from SAM
Positive Identification [ PID ]
→ Can provide PID any direction [ 1–5 ] quadrants
→ Cannot provide PID when obstructed by Landscape
